THE STUDIO · 1:1 BOOK COACHING
A serious editorial partner beside you while you write.
Dr. Shelly in your corner, fortnight by fortnight, until it’s written. Delivered by Shelly herself.
Coaching is for the writer who wants someone properly in their corner while they write the book, not a verdict once it’s too late to change anything. Here’s how it goes: we meet on Zoom every fortnight, you’ve got us in the Studio through the week, and every two weeks we read twenty-five of your pages and write back properly. Real, steady progress, and none of the lonely second-guessing you’ve been doing on your own.

IDEAL FOR
Writers with a book underway, or one they keep starting and stopping, who want structure, honesty, and someone who reads the pages and tells them the truth. Shelly teaches real architecture, the Ordinary World, the Destabilising Moment, the beats that hold a book together, then leaves you plenty of room to make something properly yours.

GOOD TO KNOW
How fast will I write?
Most coaching clients deliver 25,000 to 60,000 manuscript words across a 3-month block. The point isn’t speed for its own sake, it’s finishing the right book.
Can I cancel part way through?
Yes, with 30 days’ written notice. Unused months of a 6-month block convert to credit at the 3-month rate, usable across any Scholar & Story service within 12 months.
After coaching?
Many writers move into a Manuscript Diagnostic, a Start-to-Finish package, or take the manuscript out to query. We discuss the right next step at your final call.
